Teen Academy

As a student of the Teen Academy, you will gain a knowledge and understanding of the functions and responsibilities of the various roles within the Orange County Sheriff's Office. This highly interactive academy discusses many safety topics that teens face such as bulling, dating, truancy, and social media.

Explorers

The primary functions of the Explorer Program is assisting the Sheriff’s Office through community service projects while learning about the many aspects of the criminal justice system. Explorer activities include civic service, recreational programs, and training.

Teen Driver

This 8-hour defensive driving course will provide teen drivers with the knowledge and hands-on experience to reduce the chances of being involved in a crash.

P.A.L.

The Orange County Police Athletic League is a juvenile crime prevention organization in which law enforcement officers utilize athletic and recreational activities to influence youngsters to avoid the temptations of crime, drugs and violence.

Youth Opportunities

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office offers a variety of programs geared toward educating kids about law enforcement and making good life choices. From defensive driving courses to summer camp, the OCSO aims to keep kids safe!

Senior Connect(SCIIS)

SCIIS is being offered at no cost, to seniors ages 55 and better, to empower and uplift the senior community. The sessions are intended to enhance positive relationship between seniors and law enforcement tasked with protecting as well as educating the elderly population on proactive tools to promote safety within the community.

Civilian Police Academies

Through the Civilian Police Academy, the Orange County Sheriff's Office educates residents about law enforcement policies, functions and services. The mission of the Civilian Police Academy is to give the public a working knowledge of the Agency in an effort to dispel misconceptions about law enforcement.

Offered Courses

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office offers various courses that range from teaching about the inner working of the agency to how to protect yourself and loved ones from being a victim. OCSO also offers the Civilian Police Academies in different languages! 

Occupant Protection Program

The primary objective of the Occupant Protection Program is to increase awareness of proper use of occupant protection devices (car seats, booster seats, and seat belts) throughout the community. This objective is met through education and training of the public.
