Minimum Qualifications
- Good work history
- High school diploma or GED (except for School Crossing Guards – see requirements here) (Will not accept a certificate of completion)
- Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English
- At least 18 years of age
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Registered Alien
- For positions requiring driving, a valid driver’s license for the last year
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
- No illegal drug usage within the last year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis

911 Operator

Sign on Bonus
ECS/911: $3,000 bonus paid in two installments. First, $2,000 at the completion of their initial training. Second, $1,000 at the completion of Field Training.
Salary breakdown:
- Employee only working 911, no prior experience, minimum 16 hours overtime a month, on midnight shift
- $46,317 annual with 16 hour minimum OT a month
- Specialty Tier 1 $1000 annual
- Shift Differential $2600 annual
- $49,917 new annual
- Additional 8 hours of built in overtime $56,019
- Max OT allotment at 20 hours weekly $74,952
- Add the $3000 signing bonus $77,952 for first year

School Crossing Guard
School Crossing Guards work part-time during the school year. School Crossing Guards regulate, guide, and control pedestrians at a designated school crossing while children are going to and from school.
- Salary:Â $17.31 per hourÂ
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or registered alien.
- High school diploma or possess a state equivalency diploma is recommended but not mandatory.
- Not have been convicted of a felony. Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence.
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces.
- Be sufficiently agile to move swiftly to avoid danger.
- Be able to communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- Must successfully pass an agility test and be able to pass annually.
- Must pass an occupational health medical exam on an annual basis.
- Able to successfully complete a state certification course with a passing score of 75% or higher and re-certify annually.
- Must be able to handle working with children and work in a high vehicle traffic environment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
