These are the men and women who are the first to respond to your call for help. They are almost always the first to arrive on a scene and give aid and comfort to the injured. They take it all in and see what they do as simply part of their jobs. Deputy Sheriffs are responsible for the protection of life and property and the enforcement of laws and regulations.

Advanced Training

The Orange County Sheriff's Office Training Section has earned the reputation for providing its sworn and civilian employees with the best possible training available. Quite simply, it’s an investment based on the premise that the way one trains is the way they will perform. The agency provides all of the training mandated by the State of Florida, as well as a myriad of career enhancing elective courses to all of its employees.

Sheriff John Mina spent nearly 28 years with the Orlando Police Department, where he rose through the ranks and was appointed Chief of Police in 2014. In November 2018, Orange County voters chose Mina as the 29th elected Sheriff.
